Impossible photography

Classe ‘85 e di origine svedese, il fotografo e ritoccatore Erik Johansson   ha come unica peculiarità quella di voler stupire il mondo. La sua fotografia è al confine estremo tra fantasia e realtà, le sue manipolazione sulle immagine possiedono un elevato grado di iperealismo  spingendo l’osservatore a confondere la finzione con la realtà attraverso estremi giochi di intrecci e forme. Johasson si prefigge il compito di stupire andando oltre ciò che i nostri occhi possono quotidianamente osservare, facendoci immergere in un mondo estremamente stravagante in cui siamo noi a scioglierci e non il gelato, oppure ci stiriamo direttamente con gli indumenti in dosso (vedi altri lavori di Erik sul suo sito in allegato all’articolo). Il mondo per Erik quindi non è convenzionale, non è lineare e non rispetta le leggi della fisica a cui siamo tutti i giorni “soggiogati”, interpreta la realtà dandogli un suo personalissimo contributo con un ausilio estremo della fotoelaborazione digitale. Ogni immagine è un concept studiato attraverso idee riportate prima su quaderni come schizzi e bozze ed infine, dopo aver studiato tutto nei minimi dettagli, con gli scatti finali, che risulteranno gli ingredienti base dei suoi stravaganti “frullati di immagini”.
Le sue elaborazioni sono realizzate da somme di diverse immagini, ognuna delle quali è studiata attentamente in termini di luce e di colori in modo poi da poterle fondere perfettamente una con l’altra. Un immagine finale può essere la combinazione da 2 ad anche 10 scatti differenti, dipende da ciò che vuole realizzare e dalla sua difficoltà (ad esempio l’immagine del pesce-isola è composto da 10 scatti anche eseguiti in location differenti, mentre il strada che si trasforma in telo da solo 2 scatti). Alla base di ogni scatto c’è però un concept, un’idea che nasce dalla sua mente e che spesso assume un significato sociale, politico o alle volte solo ludico 😀

His photography is at the extreme border between fantasy and reality, its manipulation on the images possess a high degree of iperealismo encouraging the observer to confuse fiction with reality through extreme games twists and shapes. Johasson sets himself the task of surprise going beyond what our eyes can see every day, making dive into a world in which we are extremely extravagant and not to break up the ice cream, or we stretch it directly on the clothes off (see other articles of Erik on his website attached article). The world’s Erik so it is not conventional, is not linear and does not respect the laws of physics to which we are every day, “subdued”, interprets reality by giving it a very personal contribution with a kind of extreme fotoelaborazione digital. Each image is a concept developed through ideas listed first in notebooks as sketches and drafts, and finally, after studying every detail, with the shots finals, which will be the basic ingredients of his extravagant “shakes images.”

Its elaborations are made by sums of different images, each of which is carefully studied in terms of light and colors so that they can then merge perfectly with one another. A final image can be any combination from 2 to 10 shots also different, it depends on what you want to accomplish and from its difficulty (for example, the image of the fish-island consists of 10 shots also performed in different locations, while the road becomes towel only 2 clicks). At the base of each unit there is, however, a concept, an idea that was born from his mind, and that often takes on a social, political or sometimes just fun: D
