Fiocchi di Neve colorati
è questa l’idea che ha colto il fotografo Brian Maffitt durante la grande tempesta di neve che ha colpito New York. Ha deciso, mentre era rinchiuso in casa bloccato dal mal tempo, di proiettare direttamente sui fiocchi di neve un il film di animazione Lorax, il guardiano della foresta. L’autore spiga che ha deciso di usare proprio quel film di animazione perchè ritenuto quello con i colori più saturi (“Era in cima alla lista di Netflix di film per bambini, dove tendono a raggrupparsi i video con maggior saturazione dei colori”), riuscendo così ad ottenere immagini più brillanti.
Durante questo esperimento, dall’esito imprevedibile, Brain nota che all’aumentare della velocità di caduta della neve, le immagini si perdono e sui fiocchi paiono proiettati non più i colori originali contenuti nelle scene del film ma bensì i colori primari (rosso/verde/blu) scomposti.

Snowflake colored
this is the idea that has caught the photographer Brian Maffitt during the big snow storm that hit New York. Decided while he was locked up in the house blocked by bad weather, to project directly on a snowflakes animated film The Lorax, the guardian of the forest. The author ear that he decided to use that very animated film because it deemed the colors more saturated (“It was high on the list of Netflix movies, where children tend to congregate videos with greater color saturation”), thus getting brighter images.
During this experiment, the outcome unpredictable, Brain known that increasing the falling speed of the snow, the images are lost and flakes seem no longer projected the original colors contained in the scenes of the film, but rather the primary colors (red / green / blue) broken.
